What about jane's addiction? or are they more the alternative scene?

Well she ended up chucking a sicky so we got there on time, farking good show, sounded note for note like the studio recordings. The mix was the best I've ever heard, every instrument could be heard crystal clear, the venue needs to hire their sound guys permanently because I've heard some shockers there.
Gf got Mike Portnoy's drumstick personally handed to her at the end of the show which was rather awesome, and got her a bit moist.

No Change Of Seasons/Stream Of Consciousness/Glass Prison? -1 there. Good set, but more classics wouldn't have hurt.
Send me a bit of that stick!![]()
Well you know DT lad, they change their set around every night, I think stream of conciousness and change of seasons were possibly played on one of the other Aussie dates.
Sif you're getting some of that stick, hell I only got ot hold onto it for like 5 seconds before being yelled at to give it back.
Sure did.....thanks Mike!![]()
On the subject of DT you've probably all seen these before, but they really do crack me up every time.
The pickups in all the guitars were hand-wired by Tony Blair.
I can't play the keyboard anymore, I forgot.
I don't believe in Santa Claus, John Myung or the tooth fairy.
I had a wife and four kids before I found out Dream Theater were coming.
Gah, so good. Wish I went to see them in Manchester
Oh well! Leaving to see Dark Tranquillity in ~10 minutes. Going to be awesomeBai guys!
Any pelican fans here? They're not conventional metal, but they're definitely a metal/post-rock mix.
Never heard them I'm afraid.
But DT was pretty fucking awesome. Such a good show, even though I had to leave a song before the endSunday public transport ftl.
Their second album, The Fire in our Throats will Beckon the Thaw, is more post-rock and less post-metal but it still has their epic groove going on. Their latest album, City of Echoes, continues down that path and more or less abandons the old style in favour of a more compact post-rock approach. Heavy for that style but no longer in the droning dirges and walls of sound category occupied by the Neurosis/Isis/Cult of Luna school.
I am kinda biased though, since I think that Drought is the greatest song they've ever done.
Dream Theater apparently hired GONZO to do the music video for the song Forsaken.
