Yes I have, I was healed when I wasn't a believer and when I was. Again, if you pray and mean it, truly and have faith, God can hear you. But it's still what he has planned. He knows what's best and what's needed to happen, so while it may not make sense to us, at this time or ever, it makes sense to him.

On the topic of healing through prayer I can't believe nobody has called in the placebo effect.
I mean, come on, if a sugar pill works to cure diseases just because somebody believes their problems will go away, does that mean god is sugar?
If you are motivated to be cured, then you have the will to live. If you have the will to live, you are more likely to get better. If you truly believe that a magical god is going to cure you with all your heart, you will be motivated to be cured.
Then, as Cheezy said, there are those fakes out there.

I lost my faith and pretty much everything long ago. I got too involved with the wrong stuff and went further from God, day by day. Well, finally I came out of that hole I was in for so long, and know I need something better, something that has been missing for so long. I have seen the power of God before and know that's what it is, but I'm so cynical and like to disbelieve anything that sounds unreal. I like the proof to be there right when I need it. But it doesn't always work like that, sometimes we have to be patient and gradually understand things. Something I have to learn. So I'm still trying and figuring it out, little by little. And it's hard, because I've been used to the opposite for so long.
I told you they're no exempt from death and illness. It's not liek you become a Christian and you're now invincible, life still happens. You just now have that special relationship with God and live life for him.

You need to factor in the whole Heaven/compensations deal to make it work. God's also infallible, so he's always right.
Basically, "you just don't get it."
So, whether or not you talk to him, he knows best. You can talk, but it won't change anything.
Might as well be talking to a brick wall.
But it doesn't change anything, since fate is preordained, as you've said yourself.Originally Posted by Zephyr

Nooooo. Organized religions are, basically, a bunch of people mooching off belief and faith.
If you want to believe in God, do it. No one should need a group of people telling them HOW to live their faith and whatnot. It's bullshit.
Random example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dispens...atholic_Church)
When my father was young, people would give money to the Church to get a dispensation in order to marry their cousins. That, is bullshit.
What you've missed is that many of these people don't have any faith in the religion to begin with. They have faith in tradition, they have faith in what their parents taught them, they have faith in what they've always believed.
They don't know enough about their own religion to really have faith in it. Take away the organisation and all that's left is a bundle of half-defined wishes, not a coherent religious position.
