Seconded. Megadeth were one of the biggest metal bands of the 80s, and remain a pretty well-known name even to those who don't like the genre. The others are all artists I've not only heard of, but heard, despite listening to mainly pop and classical. And Dragon Quest is the second biggest J-RPG series after Final Fantasy, and even bigger in its homeland. If you're going to preach the rather depressing gospel of being anti-mainstream, at least do it right.

...but then what do I know? I like Final Fantasy and Marvel vs Capcom. Obviously my opinions are worthless. There's no way anyone could like such things unless they'd been spoon-fed them by the mass media. Nobody could possibly like them on their own merits. No. Nuh uh. One person considers them shit, and thus there's zero possibility that anyone else could find merit in them. Like he said, tastes are meant to be chosen, not given, so it's best that everyone just like what he tells them is good.

But then I am just a trendwhore. Heck I wouldn't even like shit like Final Fantasy if I just got out there and experienced all that gaming had to offer. I clearly need to learn to look beyond just the mainstream titles. Now excuse me while I go and admire my Japanese RPG collection, which consists of everything from Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Terranigma to Final Fantasy VII and X.

And for the record, I'd be just as worried if the leader of my country was someone who preached the virtues of intolerance, anger, and overwhelming arrogance. People like that simply shouldn't be given that amount of power. ^_~
