I wouldn't take their tactics personally though. They probably have a set procedure the whole company has to follow when sending out accept/reject information. My company does, so if I were in the same situation, I wouldn't know until I received the official letter from the HR dept.

Oh, I'm sure that's the case. It just doesn't make it any easier to swallow that on one of her many trips past my desk every day, she couldn't just drop me a line to at least let me know that a decision had been made one way or the other.
