Default SFV file? My file is corrupt

How do I use a sfv file? When I try to extract a game Dirge of Cerberus for PS2, it says file is corrupt after about a second of extracting it.

EDIT: It says it was a Echelon release.

If it comes up as there are corrupt files in QuickSFV, then re-download the missing parts (incomplete parts) from another torrent

Everything was alright, but it still does not let me extract it.

Are the files .001, .002, etc.? If so are you using Winrar?

It only lets me use 7-zip for some reason. And yes the files are labeled as such.

    Right.

Right click on part .001, open with, Winrar.
Double click .001 and extract the image from the Winrar window

It wouldn't let me do it that way, so I opened the program and then right clicked and it let me extract within the program, but not the usual right click. And yes 7-zip is crap.

7zip totally doesn't compress files better with its own compression format

It just tries to interfere with Winrar files and fucks itself over.

I've got both 7-Zip and WinRar and if you associate 7-zip with .7z files, and associate WinRar with .rar files, and associate whichever one you prefer with zip files, there won't be any "interference" between the 2.

Just set them both properly, and they'll get along just fine

And .7z's max compression is better than .rar's max for most files.

    7zip can't extract ".001"
    Winrar cannot extract "7z.001"

    Hello,

May I ask what is the purpose of an sfv file? Some downloads include this file, but others do not, why?

    Thanks mates!

Which is why you associate .7z with 7-Zip and .rar with WinRar.

And .001 is probably made with a file splitter like HJSplit:
