Rebuilt Bosch actually creeped me out, and was such an epic, cool boss battle. The game had a really great atmosphere, and I can totally see why it was billed as a 'survival RPG'. I don't know. It might be just about my favourite game on the PS2.
4 was...I don't know why I liked it as much as I did. Perhaps because I played it before 3, and because there are quite a lot of similarities?I like the combo system, which I'm surprised hasn't been implemented in more RPGs. I also think the soundtrack is kinda unique and cool. It maybe falls apart a little towards the end, but...eh... I had fun with it.

I totally hate Tom Morello right now. T_T
Sadly 'different' is always going to be enough for some people to hate something. Especially if it's as dramatically different as DQ was.I mean seriously, I don't know what possessed someone at Capcom to turn one of the most conventional RPG series around into something so...weird. XD
Anyway, yeah, I liked the Breath of Fire games, but always felt that they were pretty unmemorable. I'd play them, enjoy them, and promptly forget them. They were like...average upper-tier RPGs. V was so unique, and had so much that set it above the rest of the series for me.The setting was awesome, the gameplay was awesome, the dragon form was awesome... Heck I even enjoyed the minimalist story, and I'm usually a hands-on story kind of person. Everything about it just worked for me. It wasn't a game for everyone, but I think that was very much the intention.

Oh, how is Rogue Galaxy?I've had a backup lying around for a long time now. I've actually never played a Level 5 game besides the first few hours of Dark Chronicle, and a little bit of Dragon Quest VIII. And...fine, yes, Shadow of the Colossus is my favourite.
But Dragon Quarter comes pretty close!
The genes were pretty cool, admittedly. And Weretiger Rei...
