It's pretty simple. If you already have a network, then you're pretty much set. The DSL modem operates as it's own "node", so it doesn't need to have a computer to accompany it. You then hook the router in after it, and then the computers go from the router.

You shouldn't. The configuration should be accessable by opening a web browser and entering the IP 192.168.1.1 or .2, etc. You then change anything you want from there...the security, the wireless, etc.
