I don't know, it's not really for everyone. It has a nice story and lovely characters, but the gameplay (with the exception of the third game) is very slow, and hardly above average. Which you only notice more because everything else is so good.

Plus there is always the argument that there's not much point in playing a game that's more or less a movie when you could just be watching any number of spectacular movies. ^_~; As much as I love Xenosaga, it does tend to be just a tad unbalanced sometimes when it comes to movie content VS actual game content. While I'm not the biggest fan of the Final Fantasy series these days, that's something it's always done really well. Even if its stories aren't always the best, I always felt like they had a good balance of storytelling and gameplay, and that you always got to play when you wanted to play, and read when you wanted to read.
Still, I like Xenosaga a whole lot. There's a lot that's good there if you can accept the fact that you'll be watching a lot more than you play. And if you can accept that an RPG series that had the potential to be one of the best out there out there really just ended up being a nice story with decent-ish gameplay bits inbetween.

I will, only after I beat Beast and the Harlot on Expert. I can't get used to the controller, I can beat that one with the Guitar, but I get confused with the X button.
That game has the merit of being the only one that works with my Swap Magic. It looks cool.
I wish it was the same with Persona 3. >____>
I still have a save with many hours on it and...no.
I think I understand now why people kept complaining about MGS2 and 3 about the cutscenes and gameplay.I don't know, it's not really for everyone. Meh, I still have the ISO in one of my folders, when I repair the laser I will give it another go. Just...not right now.![]()
Hee, I felt too guilty not to buy Xenosaga 2 after finishing the series.I didn't even like it that much, but I think I saw it as part of my debt to the series overall. I have all three now.
Actually, the first one was bought for me by someone here.'Battousai' was his username. We used to talk for ages on MSN about how great Xenogears was, and when it became apparent that the first Xenosaga wouldn't come out in Britain, he just randomly bought and sent me a copy. It wasn't even Christmas or my birthday or anything. It was really sweet of him...
