Just updated my PSP to M33 v3.52-4, and upon installing update 4 for 3.52 my PSP has stopped responding.

No buttons work on the XMB menu, although when I go into Recovery mode it works fine. Program mode does nothing though, it goes to a black screen then the PSP swtiches off.

    Help?

    EDIT:
Installed a Recovery file I found on the net and restored 1.50. Now its just trial and error til this bastard works.

    EDIT 2:
Updating from 3.52 to either 3.52-3 or 3.52-4 doesn't work, which means I cant actually upgrade to 3.71. Anybody know a fix for this?

I have never heard of anyone not being able to update to revision 4. You should be able to directly update from 3.52 M33 directly to 3.52 M33-4.

Try updating without plugins active and without some fancy theme. Theme's mostly cause problems on the 3.52

Pandora's Battery never did work on the slim, because of its size or of how the psp slim works with the battery. Dont really know.

Got my new Menu Button Sensor Strip today, so my PSP is fully functional =D

So...anyone know why Tony Hawk's Project 8 saves corrupt files? After saving and switching off you can't reload, but when you browse to the save file in the XMB menu it isn't shown with a Corrupt Icon.

Not sure if this is the case with other games (As the PSX Castlevania loads fine), I'll find out now.

I have a question regarding PSP memory sticks, annd I figured it was best placed here. My PSP is currently downgraded to 1.5. However, it only came with a 32MB memory stick, which is too small to house all the files required to upgrade to custom firmware.

That in itself isn't much of a problem, since I wanted to buy a bigger memory stick anyway. Ideally, though, I'd want to get an 8GB stick for plenty of space, and that's where the problem lies. I've read that PSPs with lower firmwares won't recognise larger sticks. Meaning, of course, that I wouldn't be able to use my 8GB card to upgrade to custom firmware either. My question, then, is whether a PSP with lower firmware can use at least part of a large stick? Like...the first 2GB or something? Or am I going to have to buy a 512 or 256MB card just to upgrade, along with my larger one for use post upgrade? 'cause...that'd be sort of a pain...

    Thanks for any help.

Ask Sprung or someone to borrow you a 256mb memcard, so then you don't waste any money on something you don't need.

Just find someone who uses anything that has a Memory Stick in and borrow that. I used my Dad's 2GB stick from his phone to do mine, before I bought my 4GB stick.

Dunno why the 8GB would be a problem though.

Do I HAVE to have FW 3.72 on my PSP for remote play to work on PS3 FW 2.01 (or whatever they are at)? I just finished getting my PSP to M33 3.71-3 and I still cant connect to my PS3.

My guess would probably be yes. I am using 3.52-M33 Revision 4, and why I just tried to connect to my PS3 it told me that a system update was required.

I just found this guide. I have no idea if it works or not, but you are free to try it yourself AT YOUR OWN RISK. I would suggest backing up your flash0 files before attempting this.

Hi there guys, a little question, a friend of mine got a PSP from another friend who told him that it was pretty much screwed so he has total liberty to try to repair it.

Haven't seen the PSP myself, but so far he tells me that Start Button doesn't work, and that Square and X buttons work in the Menu, but once that he enters any game they stop working, or sometimes all buttons stop working. So far we have deduced that it's not a physical issue, since it works on the Menu screen, he took it apart and it looks clean and stuff. So, question here is, Start Button does have a use in the Menu screen?

    Thanks in advance.

When you say menu screen, I am assuming you are speaking of the XMB which has the options for game, music, movies, and pictures.

What firmware is this PSP, and what games are you trying to play?

The start button has no function on the XMB.

    Yeah, that. XMB

3.51, and it's World Tour Soccer, so...it does use the Square and X buttons, because I have played it before.

We were going to try to do the whole Pandora stuff to flash it, but I thought of asking about the Start Button first because if it's needed while the process we'll be screwed.

    Saw your edit, thanks!

I don't know if the Pandora's battery process requires the use of the start button.
