Thats irrelevant to this conversation. You cant compare an ISP company giving out computer-related information to a 911 call involving the life of a baby.

Opposite ends of the world my friend.

    Correct. You're also an anus.

But, anyway, modchip owners are only getting their online accounts closed/modchip deactivated (in the Wii's case only, AFAIK), so there's no point in suing. Better kill the thing than bother suing for money you won't get.

    Somewhat.

But it's still possible to trace. IP hiders just toss in a little bit more work for people trying to trace your connection.

Long story short the only 100% effective way to not get busted is to not download illegal material in the first place.

Or to do it on someone else's computer.

havent posted in a while, but i thought this should be said:

my friend has recieved several C & D letters, he just ignores them, nothing ever has happened (yet )

any as most people have said earlier in this post, chasing you up for downloading an old Rom would actually dent their own profits, and any company in their right mind isnt going to want to chase up EVERY single old Rom stolen, i mean, the legal fees to cover one sites downloads alone would be enough to bring a small games company to its knees

TPB's responses to their c&d letters are boss, way better than ignoring them.

Illegal, but the companies don't care, and if they do, not enough to do anything about it, they have to worry about what they are making money on, not some site that makes them not lose money, I have probably given thousands to the game industry and am tired of paying for it all since emulation has gotten so good with the classics.

And since the game's in Japanese-translated-to-English, I don't own an original copy :O
