    [QUOTE=tanthias;1027215][QUOTE=l337killa07;1027094]

SNES: If Star Ocean (the original) is on SNES, I'll snag the rom and try it out, because I've heard alot about it.

    Star Ocean is good.

If you can't find it on the main site, here's a copy of it I uploaded. http://www.epforums.org/showpost.php...8&postcount=80

Also, if you have problems running it (random freezing between 1st and 2nd towns) try using the settings (if you're using zsnes to run the rom at least) I posted here: http://www.epforums.org/showpost.php...0&postcount=14

I played it using zsnes 1.42 with those settings and never had a problem with it.
I've been using that emulator for YEARS, as well as both my brothers, and its never given us any problems. As well as Nesticle (the original, and the best IMO) and Genecyst.

Thanks for the link. I will try most of the games probably tomorrow after my Midterm (I shouldn't be nervous...right?????!?!!?!?)

We've made it into the second page and no-one has mentioned the Shin Megami Tensei games for the SNES, or the Persona games for the PSX, or the Dragon Warrior games for the NES/SNES/PSX.

    Shame on you all.

Also, the Phantasy Star games should be played through in order (you can skip the game gear action game. It's entertaining enough, but just another Golden Axe clone when you get right down to it) because there actually is a running storyline between all 4 going on in the background.

I was going to mention Earthbound and Dragon Warrior if no one else did.

*cough* Secret of Mana series too*cough*

And if you want to play some games that were never released in English, but have been fan-translated to English, then you should check this site out:
    http://agtp.romhack.net/projects.php

Quite a few patches for RPG's there.

    Also here, obviously:
    http://www.romhacking.net/?genre=14&...title=&author=

A few games listed as Incomplete or Dead are still fully playable, btw.

I'm the resident DQ nut, but I can't be blamed for not posting, y'know... Uhm... Yeah...

Anyway, stay the hell away from Phantasy Star II.

Ogre Battle + Tactics Ogre (SNES, N64, PSOne, GBA) are more than nice if you like something a LITTLE more serious in tone. But not TOO much.

Sweet Home? NES? Horror RPG. Pretty nice, considering the system it came out on -- it actually managed to freaked me out.

I would personally go with FFVIII. It is by far my favorite FF game.

I've got some time to kill, and what with all 1,000+ roms available to me at this website (Plus a CD I burned a whileeeeee back with over 700 roms) I have quite a choice for RPGS...

So I'm just wondering, what are some really GOOD RPG's for any system? I have PS2, PSX, Genesis, Nintendo (I have original consoles but cant find them), and through emulation I can get GameBoy/Neo Geo, etc. So what are some really good RPGs, in the sense that they have a good story, because I really care less about graphics. I need a story that is as in-depth and engrossing as FF7 (because admit it, YOU wanted to cry when Aeris died too!!!). I've heard of alot of RPG's but I have neither that much time nor patience to sort through all few hundred of them...I have a link to a Wikipedia article of every RPG made from Nintendo to now...somewhere....

    So any suggestions?
(PSX) Final Fantasy 8, (PSX) Final Fantasy 9, (PS2)Final Fantasy 10, PS2 Final Fantazy 12, (SNES) Final Fantasy 3, (SNES) Final Fantasy 2, (PSX) Vagrant Story, (SNES) Super Mario RPG, (SNES) Chrono Trigger, (PSX) Chrono Cross, (PSX) Suikoden 1, (PSX) Suikoden 2..........

No, I hate that game with passion, and it isn't even a RPG.

You should check out Bahamut Lagoon. It was released on the SNES only in japan but it was fully translated by De-Jap I believe. It is was a really good game so I highly recommend it since it was never mentioned

Well.. "fully translated".. Final Fantasy Tactics had a better script.

It is entertaining and all that though.

Already have it burned, its not an RPG though, and DEF not greatest game ever.

    Mario > Musashi.

Own 8, just burned 9, already own 10 and 12, have played 1-3 on FF, own chrono cross on PSX (havent beat it, didnt play and lost the storyline), already played (but i dont think beaten) chrono trigger.

Vagrant story, Super Mario RPG (as mentioned in other posts), and Suikoden series, will def try out.

    Cloud > Squall.

    Tifa > Rinona.

Tifa + Aeris + Yuffie = Lesbo sex

Rinona + Professor lady + that other chick = more lesbo sex.

But thats an argument/discussion for another thread.

I've played Dragon Quest....that game took up most of my summer 2 years ago.....actually....ALL of my summer! We owned the ORIGINAL cartridge, so I've played the ORIGINAL as it was meant to be played....and I'm extremely shocked that no one mentioned it either! :O

I've gotten the patch, and I attempted to play it but it never worked correctly...would freeze and I could never get past a certain point. I've def heard about it and will def pick it up later on.

And just in case anyone was wondering.....I got a 92% on my computer multiple choice 50 question midterm (only missing 4), and probably aced the hands-on part (create a java program, applet, and corresponding HTML page, and create an excel 07 worksheet).

And my bio exam went EXTREMELY well.....so in celebration its all gamin all night! (until i fall asleep and have to wake up for work =\)

Will do, but I'm currently playing FF9, and likin how you play different characters and they all fall into one storyline.

But its still not better than FF7.
