aaahhh... the DSL / router combo crap......
i hate those things... yea its not gonna assign IP addresses without a DSL connection
maybe ur ISP throttles torrent traffic... idk.
Will port forwarding do anything?
In this case no, especially since it's the same with a direct connection to the modem.

Run a speed test there. If your connection is crap and not what it's supposed to be I'd call ISP. If not, then the torrent your downloading probably just doesn't have many seeds and alot of leeches.
It's so slow. I think I got a 6k kbs thing last time I tried, and I used orlando as the place to try. Shouldn't broadband road runner be faster?
Broadband should be a lot faster than 6 KB/s.
Those are dial-up speeds.
Just so we're clear, are you getting these speeds with just your torrents or are you also getting them when you download something from a web site?
I can download things from sites really fast. Like softwares and what not go fast as possible. Torrents are the ones going .1% every damn 5-8 seconds![]()
What BT client are you using?
utorrent. I messed with soem things I was told to do, and nothing worked. It may of made it worse, I don't know. Any ideas?
What's your firewall?
For uTorrent > Options > Preferences > BitTorrent > Protocol Encryption: set it to Enabled.
Also, you may need to forward your ports after all.
I have an older Westell, and it has it's own built-in firewall that I needed to set to Low to get torrents to connect.
I also had to forward one port, then set uTorrent to use that port--which means if you have Randomize port each time uTorrent starts, then you need to uncheck it and specify which port you want uTorrent to use.
EDIT--
Here's how you set up uTorrent with your modem:

My firewall is sygate. I tried portforwarding, but i couldn't find it on my router. I guess I'll check it again though.
I put the range something like 1000-9000 then base 1000.
is that good bad?
Bad really. Open up utorrent > options > preferences > connection and see what the listening port is set to. Then login to your router and forward just that port. EXAMPLE: If utorrent is set to 72592, forward the range 72592-72592 and set the base to 72592.
I tried and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I turned the firewall off, and set the ports but nothing really. GRRR, what gives?
