    ePSXe - Get both 1.6.0 and 1.5.2:
    http://www.epsxe.com/download.php

    pSX Emulator:
    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

    pSXeven - similar to ePSXe:
    http://batard.psxfanatics.com/

    Those are the best ones.

Did you put the bios files in the proper folder? Also, do you have any video plugins downloaded for the emulator?

Remove the zip files from the BIOS folder.
You only need the extracted PSX_Bios_SCPH1001 in there.

Get the video plugins from here (P.E.Op.S. GPU v1.17 & Pete's GPU Plugins v1.76):
    http://www.ngemu.com/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=gpu

Get sound plugins from here (Eternal SPU v1.41 & P.E.Op.S. DSound v1.9):
    http://www.ngemu.com/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=spu

Get P.E.Op.S. CDR v1.4 from here:
    http://www.ngemu.com/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=cdr

And for PSXeven, you'll also need a Controller plugin:
    http://www.ngemu.com/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=pad

what the heck. i downloaded the plugins, and now everything is fine.....for now.

i have an x-box360 con that i hook up onto the computer. it works good, but the button config doesn't let me use my d-pad, and the other joystick.(for the dual shcok sticks) i click on it, then press a dirctional button, but nothing happens. how do i fix that?

Config > Game Pad > Pad 1 > configure all the buttons > make sure it's set to either Digital Only or Digital/Analog (try both)

Scroll down to where it says:
"If you get an error message saying d3dx9_26.dll is missing you can try downloading it from here" and click where it says here:
    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

We've already told you the best emulators.
If you can't get ePSXe to work with your controllers then it's something with your controllers.

You could try using a front-end with ePSXe like ePSXeCutor, that will allow you to use Controller plugins with ePSXe:
    http://www.snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=2944

    You could also try PSXeven:
    http://batard.psxfanatics.com/

    Controller plugins:

i went back to using epsxe. the cons are still odd. even on the default cons, the d-pad, and the other control stick does nothing.(q & y on default ) but o-well, unless u people have a solution to fix this. other than that it works fine.
