I tested my Seagate drive to see if its really going bad or if there was another cause for the I/O errors. The random access and burst speeds were way off, I forgot to take the jumper off to give it the full 3.0Gbps speeds :X So far other than that it looks like it was a damaged partition instead of drive failure.
