Its overkill for your system, but it's packed full of win. What are your current specs?
Ah. I might cancel the order for the PSU then. I know it's not the best unit available but are you sure it's not sufficient at all? The main concern is just buying something that will do the job, any future upgrades short of adding another hard-drive will probably involve replacing the entire system since the motherboard is getting a bit long in the tooth. My current specs are pretty average really:

Abit KV8 Pro mobo
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1gb PC3200 RAM
120gb HDD
250gb HDD
8x DVD/RW
DVD-ROM drive

You might aswell replace everything and get a cheaper PCI-E version of that card.

Not to be a kill joy. But that card will be win, but the processor is going to keep you back, a lot.

I can't even play HL2 @ 1028x768 on medium settings because of my Pentium 4.
Seriously? It was more than playable my current rig with pretty much everything on high except for anti-aliasing at 1600x1200. Can't afford to upgrade the entire computer at the moment anyway. The main reason I went for the X1950 was because it was only about £15 more than a decent 7600GT and from the tests I've seen it appears to be a superior card. I'm more of an occasional gamer when it comes to PC titles so as long as it works for FEAR and the like I'm not too bothered about playing next-gen games at max settings.
