WANT. Looks more like a rerelease with new character art, cutscenes, and voices, so I'm more interested in the Star Ocean 1 remake with 2's engine, but still...WANT.

Also, I really like Rena's redesign.

Oh, apparently the battle system is refined, too. I don't know exactly what that entails, though. Curse you, illegibly small Japanese characters.

The portraits are new, yes. There used to be portraits on the status screen, but that was all. Apparently they display during character interactions now. And the article says important scenes will be voiced. Considering the uh...'quality' of the English voices, I'm kinda glad that wasn't present in the original.

I didn't mind the voices all that much, given you didn't hear them often. I really liked the touch of having characters yell out other player's names when they die or attacked hard, if they like that character. In general the entire combat engine and system was perfect to me in SO2.
