Liveable but slow. Dunno really. My dad always complained about how laggy it was on 256mb, but we upgraded to 512mb and XP ran so much better it was just ridiculous.

Xp ran fine with 256mb, and vista will run fine with 512mb . Pending you get those performance updates though Now you'll only be able to efficiently run Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel and minesweeper with only 512mb of RAM in vista, but still it will run well. Vista on my PC only actually uses about 300mb of RAM after startup.

Because I'm a nice guy I'm uploading a track from the remastered Rockman ZX Advent Soundtrack (ZXA Tunes). It's one of my favorite tracks. Can't wait for the game to be released!

that is obviously not an out of box installation then, XP will run fine with 256mb. What all did he have running?

Had the game, loved it, but seem to have forgotten... I remember the garden, which was virtually useless. I know I used magic to heal myself... Can't remember how it got replenished, though.

Oh man, don't get me started on Windows ME. They took 98 and removed anything that you might actually want to use. I had so many old games that wouldn't work because the DOS mode was inexplicably left out.

XP I was running it for a while with 128mb of RAM.

When people say you need blah RAM to run this. It's all lise!

I'm reckoning Vista will be live-with-able with 512.

but I'm going to ensure I get 1GB, for my XP needs.

Remember MS-DOS, back when you were lucky to have 1MB of RAM??? Now Vista you need over 300MB... Gotta get back to hunter/gatherer SOON

The garden was pretty useful actually. I rarely used magic to heal myself because I needed the magic for other stuff. At one point in the game I had some real issues trying to survive a boss fight just because my berries were used up. Once I found out about the garden, I started growing berries like crazy.

Loved it too. Awesomeingly awesome game.

Windows ME was the first Windows OS I used. Pitty me? That OS was horrible. I had BSOD so many times. I used to format like once a week.

Win! I love the Remastered tracks. The track I posted above is from the ZX series Remastered Tracks, if you didn't get that. ZXA got way better music than ZX. Not better than Z2 though. Awakening Will is lovely.

As far as I know he only had AVG running in the background. No idea what he did with it to be honest, we ran spyware scans quite often and usually they'd all come up clean. We even formatted the hard drive every few months and it would run fine for about a week before he claimed I'd done something wrong and broken it, despite him being the only person in the house who actually used that computer. All I know is that it sped up considerably when we increased the RAM. You'd be waiting about ten minutes for the thing to shut down, after that it was pretty much instant. I didn't even format the hard-drive before the upgrade.

But are Sapphire cards good? I've heard both positive and negative comments...
