Question MediEvil 2 PS1 soundtrack errors? [Android]

I'm playing the USA version of MediEvil 2 for the PS1 on Android using RetroArch's 'PCSX ReARMed [Neon]' emulator.

The game plays fine, but there is some error with the background music. I frequently hear a track from another level (e.g. "Freakshow" level music in the "Kensington" level), and i don't likey. What could be causing this? I have every PS1 BIOS file stored in a single folder, and the emulator gives no BIOS errors. I played the European version to compare the two, and it had the same issues.

I renamed the tracks after downloading them, and wonder if this might be causing any problems? I want to try a different emulator, but the ePSXe emu on the Google Play store is about $3.50.. not sure i want to drop the money if it's gonna present the same problems :/
