I think my mom sold them all for a buck a piece. Her reasoning on garage sales is to get rid of shit - not to make money. But I guess that was probably in the infancy of any nes cart collecting anyways but still.

Pretty standard garage sale pricing. I would love to go back in time and buy some of this stuff that has gotten ridiculous now, just so I don't have to drop a couple grand on them now. But I think I would have to invest pretty heavily in time travel, which kind of makes it a moot point.

Yeah. I could have bought a decent car with what was burned when my mom went through this weird phase.

I've heard of people who have done that with their collections. They collect games through their late-teens/early-20s, then get married, sell off most of their collection and use the money to put a hefty down payment on a house. Makes sense, especially if you're not actively collecting anymore.
