True. And that's one of the reasons why Nielson happens to be the big one, they tend to be neutral and attempt to mostly weed out any bias in the stats. When you get paid the same regardless of what the numbers say, the numbers are probably going to be pretty honest. That reputation and tendency to not get caught up in number rigging means a lot to potential ad investors.
That could easily work. Although it presents something of a small problem of getting the network "out there" in the first place. The idea that someone can get turned on to a show simply by catching it while flicking through the channels is pretty big. But I guess they could work something out. Like hiring people to go on forums and recommend shows/networks to people. Because everyone loves people who are paid to do that.![]()
