It's probably the most addicting game I've ever played, although it's easy to over do it and get bored with it. I still love it though. You need a pretty decent computer, but nothing too crazy. It can get kind of laggy when the game is generating new areas of the map for the first time but aside from that it's usually good, although I run it on the lowest graphics setting to keep my fps up.
Oh my god, my friend bought MK9 the other day. So much fun.
Story mode is awesome too. Trilogy was probably my favorite MK game too, but the new one is a close rival.
