Alright. Check your inbox. I sent each song seperately in its own attatchment. Apparently, the maximum alloted size is 10 MBs per attatchment, and I didn't know that. And the first track was recompressed to 192KB for the same reason.

Remember: it was the mid 80's...

Wow... kicked out for that? Unbelievable, it doesn't have the typical Slayer crest with a pentagram... not that that would be offensive either, but still... you must've grown up in a very restrictive society. I mean... take a look at those Deicide and Cannibal Corpse shirts from the late 80's/early 90's... gory stuff and inverted crosses or humiliating pictures of Jesus and the like... You must've been a cool teenager.

Well yeah, Slayer and Testament(a few other oldschool bands: Exodus, Anthrax, Destruction, Kreator, Sodom, Megadeth, Nuclear Assault, Overkill...) play thrash, which eventually evolved into death metal which has all those blastbeats(fast drumming). I don't mind much for the category which they fall in, in fact I like the bands that in the middle that blurred the concept of thrash, death, speed and black metal, it's all better when it's lumped together IMO.

Some of the first DM bands date back to like '83, the bands were Possessed(who coined the term "death metal", and whose bassplayer formed Primus), Death(how original ), Morbid Angel, Deicide, Sepultura, Napalm Death, amongst others.

But yeah I love all the even older bands like Slayer and Testament(which I'm starting to get into now). I'm really into Megadeth, Kreator, and Sodom nowadays. Did you ever have long hair and do you remember going to any shows, Sprung?

Most contemporary bands sound nothing like what they did back then, but some still play the traditional style, which is really cool cause it gets youngin's like me into the old stuff.

    Deicide news>

    Taken from Earache.com

New Lineup, UK, Europe Tour and more!
"Things are going good." stated a good hearted Glen Benton when asked how things were going with Deicide. The band has alot coming up, a tour of the UK and Europe, new band members and alot more on the horizon. Some new blood has entered Deicide in the form of Jack Owen (Ex Cannibal Corpse) and Ralph Santolla (Ex Iced Earth, Death). Jack and Ralph will be the new ax-wielders of the sinister Deicide and Glen Benton looks forward to the new lineup; "Everyone is getting along great. I'm excited to get out there and play again without any hassles," stated Benton.
When spoken to recently, Glen Benton of Deicide expressed excitement about the upcoming Decide UK and European Tour. A devastatingly brutal 23 shows in 23 days spanning across the England, Ireland, and much of continental Europe, this tour promises to fulfill all the dark wishes of their European fans. Deicide are just about ready to be back on top and bringing their satanic metal to the masses and they start with this tour which is sure to leave Europe in rubble following the "dark mass" that occurs when Deicide performs.
Following the tour the band are looking forward to putting some newly written material onto record. "The new material is the heaviest shit we've ever written." said Benton, "This is sure to be heaviest record Since Legion."
Along with an upcoming recording session, the band have tentative plans to tour South America come January and February which should truly spread the heart of darkness throughout the continent.
The band who set the standard for Death Metal more than a decade ago are prepared to re-write that standard for a new century and school a whole new generation on just how its done. We look forward to everything Deicide has to offer us in the last months of 2005 and the oncoming 2006 year, (click here for dates).

Deicide's Earache debut "Scars of The Crucifix" is in stores now and available everywhere including through the Earache webstore from the links below.

Holy crap, Jack Owens and Ralph Santolla on guitars? I can't wait to see what this new material is like... it looks like Deicide are coming back again, hopefully they can make us forget how much the past few records sucked.

In other news... I've been learning some Death and Necrophagist riffs on guitar, challenging but very fun stuff. It's seriously helping me improve a lot because it's definately not all powerchords... I think I'm going to tackle Necrophagist's "Extreme Unction", because it's my favorite Necro song and it looks challenging and fun to play.

Oh yeah, someone at Metaltabs posted the complete version of Arsis' "Face of My Innocence" for guitarpro! It's only missing the sweeped parts of the solos. It's in the Pending tabs forum, looks very accurate, I already got a few of those riffs down but that sweep in the beggining of the song is kinda tricky. Can't wait to learn the rest of it, and for some dude to tab some other songs.

Yeah we are a little town with "morals" :eyeball: Goth is not even taken well here...Long hair? Oh hell yeah...down to my ass I only got to go to a few shows, since Dayton and Indianapolis are the two closest venues I was able to get to at that time. I saw Metallica's "And Justice for All" tourstop with Queensryche opening, Judas Preist with Cinderella, and Poison with Tesla...sorry about that last one, it was a girl who drug me to that one. Tell you what though, beyond all the big hair and makeup, Ricky Rocket is (was) one hell of a drummer. He had a second drumset drop from the rafters of the arena, and he stood to play both sets for probably 15 minutes. Until that night, I thought I could play the drums

Hell yeah... Wow... you're much radder than I thought you were. You said she "drugged" you to the show? As in she got you high and you went with her? Or do you mean dragged?

You got to see that Metallica tour... that must've been a hell of an experience, as well as Priest in the 80's. As much of a "true" metalhead I am, I don't mind Poison and some hair metal bands(as long as they're not complete wussies). Even the band Europe was cool. I can bear that form of pop music... but I can't stand early 90's and today's pop rock. I love those VH1 specials with Ronny James Dio, Manowar, Maiden, Priest, and whole lot of hair metal videos.

Anyone here a fan of old traditional metal besides Iron Maiden? I mean stuff like Dio, Saxon, Motorhead, Manowar, Thin Lizzy, etc... Though I never find myself listening to it, I love the traditional metal bands like those I just mentioned.

God damn I love Dio and Manowar. Iron Maiden are legends of course, but to be honest I never was so big on Maiden except for the songs everyone knows, but apart from that I really never became a diehard Maiden fan... Anyone heard Manowar's "Army of Immortals"? It's not an old song but it feels old, and it basically defines the awesomeness of pure heavy metal in the 80's vein.

    Ok, ok...dragged

I completely forgot about Dio. I had a bunch of Dio on vinyl. The Metallica tour was pretty damned good, although being at Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, the statue (of blind justice, or of liberty? I don't remember...) wasn't blown up like in larger arenas...the stage crew pulled it apart with attached ropes. Kinda lame, but it wasn't really an issue when you were seeing Metallica

In addition to Dio, I listen to old bands like Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol and Warlord. I have Manowar's full discog, but I don't listen to it much. Dio's Holy Diver gets the most play time out of these bands.

Same with me. Don't listen to many classic bands. Just Iron Maiden, Dio, and if you consider Slayer classic, then yes Not Manowar. I plan on getting their dico soon, though. I hear great things about them all the time.
Holy Diver is awesome though. Anybody seen the music video for it? What a piece of Michael Moore hot-dog infested belly weener. But, it was the aerly 80's, so I guess it's ok that it sucked then. It's pretty funny, though. Download it if you haven't seen it!
