    Default Googulator (gameboy emulator

    http://www.googulator.com/home

oh great now google is even getting into video game emulation. i'm beginning to wonder if there will be anything left untouched in regards to a few things internet related, 1 of which is google. (unlikely)

edit: just tried it out with megaman V and it works but is rather slow with the frame rate keeping in the teens and the audio didn't seem to work, least i couldn't hear anything. guess we have yet another place to play gameboy games from when a pc or whatever else we'd normally use is unavailable.

Are you sure it's google? Just because you can sign up with your google account doesn't mean it's google.

You can sign up to EPForums with facebook, but epforums is not a part of facebook afaik.

i think you're right, just looked around a bit more ad its made by jloutsenhizer, you can find it on github. it does make use of the google drive thing though, which i otherwise have little, if any reason to use. and it also has the typical Pro version offer at $5 (access to any pro features added in the future, no more ads, etc., the usual stuff)

from the google+ community page (something else i avoid as it feels to much like facebook to me):

    About this community

    GBA GAMES AREN'T SUPPORTED

    THE ONLY SUPPORTED GAMES:

    NES GB GBC SGB

IMPORTANT: Sharing commercial game ROMs is ILLEGAL and is not permitted. If you link to commerical game ROMs you will be banned from the community. This is a community for discussing all things related to Googulator.

i might use it, probably not though as snes9x and vba are easily more convenient for me.

Sounds like its an online emulator, rather than something you run locally, I can only see that being of use if you carry roms on a portable drive and use a public computer that does not allow you to install or run anything of your own.

There are plenty of windows NES emulators though anyway (I'm sure there are OSX ones as well) and I would guess they have more features, VBA I was sure could play GB to GBC games as well as GBA

snes9x I'm sure it only plays snes games though (asides from the odd A&S hack that makes the odd NES game in to a SNES rom, but they only done that with a small hand full of nes roms but it's not perfect anyway)

Myself I have emulators on other consoles, mostly my XBOX and Wii (Wii mostly just for the lightgun games, the rest I use my xbox to play (I use a PS2 pad with the xbox)) plus the odd system on my 3DS & PSP for portable emulation

I hardly use my laptop for games at all, sometimes I do but more for testing rather than just playing
