Of course I don't, you live a continent away from me!

Anyway my implication was that LoS seems to divide people, some love it while others say it's kinda boring, like I have.

I got your back Gare. I actually didn't even finish the game.
I expected so much when I heard it was Kojima; actually a bit apprehensive it would be 15 hours of cut scene and four hours' gameplay.
What it was was an uninspired repetitive GoW clone with no plot.

You do realize paying guys to suck your cock still qualifies you, right?
Nice try with the semantics trick though.

Yeah, I have nothing to add there because I haven't played LoS myself.

So I'm just going to slowly back out of here now that I've made a joke on the "people agree with me so it's true" concept.

    (The world is flat).

Btw I'm not the only one with these complaints, plenty of other people online sharing similar views.
Didn't know Drag was Spaniard too
Nonsenses, that's like saying you didn't like it because it wasn't Japanese enough. Or a VN
If you had more fun with Darksiders 2 is perhaps because you, like me, like Zelda more than GoW. Not really the same kind of game.

It's easy to accept a game may have flaws (in LoS, that's clearly the camera) but it's also fair to admit, that despite them, a game has it's own merits when they are there. In my opinion, as far as LoS respects, most of them are creative, including an accurate atmosphere with beautiful graphics and good design of characters, creatures and settings; a good story with an original approach to the characters, even if not in the canonic way some fans of the series may have wanted, after all you don't always get to play the story of Dracula; really nice touch; and finally, a truly inspired soundtrack (and not because I say it, it even won a prize, if I recall correctly).

Definitely, a good Castlevania in 3D after many tries. It was clear that the saga needed changes (some of them were not to be accepted by the most radical fans, that's was to be expected and there's where many of the few negative critics come from, I suspect). But to say that the game "only proved that they're not very good at making video games" is an unfortunate exaggeration, and as such, it's unfair. Fortunately for MercurySteam, the critics were overwhelmingly positive and Konami confided in them to create not just one game but a whole trilogy, now without Kojima.

And by the way, all Kojima did was making sure the game would be more like a movie, making the studio add more cinematic sequences and changing the angle of some cameras.

The Ultimate Edition, or whatever it's called would be a good way to remedy that. Despite it not being my favourite game genre (I still have 5 GoW games in my backlog to be played), I didn't hesitate to play it as soon as I had the chance. Give it a try if you can.

I went into this with a completely open mind, there was absolutely nothing that influenced my judgment beforehand. It matters little to me how many prizes the OST won or how much praise critics gave it, I personally just wasn't having that much fun while playing. Everything I said above was my 100% honest reaction to the game and I'm sorry if it hurt some feelings in the process; I wasn't trying to be grumpy for the sake of it. The game looks gorgeous visually and the ending plot twist is interesting, that much I admit. So yeah I really dunno what else to tell you.

I'm sort of leaning toward Gare's side of the fence on this one. LoS is one of those games that I really *wanted* but after a certain point found that I was forcing myself to finish it. I've picked it back up a few times intending to try a harder difficulty, but never stuck with it.

Practically all of my music "collection" comes from OSTs, but I can't seem to remember a single track from LoS. It's been a couple years since I've played it, of course, so take that as you will.

It's a decent enough game but it quickly feels repetitive. I remember frequently looking forward to see how much longer I could expect to trudge on.

EDIT: In fact, after posting I had to double check that I was even thinking of the same game after all that praise.

No worries, no feelings hurt, of course, but I thought it was surprising to hear how severely you judged it, considering you are the only other person I know, aside from crusher and me, who liked Grin's Bionic Commando

Hmm, I think I'd still like Bionic Commando even today. Alice Madness Returns is also one of my favorites and that game gets some hate as well for being boring and having repetitive combat. And I only played that last year, actually. I dunno, it's kinda weird how these things work...

Btw have you tried Alice? Always wondered what you thought of it.

I still like it, if that helps One of the reasons why I liked Just Cause 2 is because it felt like a less linear Bionic Commando

Alice is one of those games that I've been tempted to get more than once (mainly because I've heard Drag talking good things about it and because the designs are not the ordinary thing you see everywhere) but then I say to myself, Cookie, you have more games than time to play, go back home and enjoy what you already have So yeah, I haven't really played it yet.
