Bottom line. Original models for everything suck.

Of course nothing is 100% problem free. And older consoles can have numerous issues anyway (dead psu or whatever).
I was mostly referring to newer consoles overheating and other hardware issues = badly designed/manufactured.
The Wii is the most reliable of the last gen consoles. I dunno about the WiiU, which is why I had the shrug/dunno smiley.

So far the only complaint is that it's a toy rather than a console, so no hardware problems as of yet
I bet it's because they don't fucking blow money on the newest processor or "best" RAM.

It's easy to make fun of Nintendo consoles, but if they are actually more reliable then that's something that will stand the test of time.

The Wii is pretty dang resilient. Never had a problem with mine. The only problem I've seen really is that sometimes the laser goes out in the original models. It's simple and cheap as hell to repair though. To be honest though, it's not like the Wii's really pushing the envelope CPU/GPU-wise. So it's probably not putting out nearly the heat that the 360/PS3 puts out. Hell my original Xenon 360 would get up to ~170F+. It kept my room nice and toasty in the winter.

Are you running BSNES? If not then it's not as accurate as real hardware.

Even BSNES isn't 100% accurate though.

    The Xbox 720, tri-functions as a desktop, a console, and a heater.

I think I've used the laser in mine less than a dozen times

I can make money off my old discs that are already printed, in circulation, and still get a margin of profit back because the middle man will stock the shelves with my newer products? I got a better idea, let's digitize the hell out of everything rendering backwards compatibility useless. I am such a genius it hurts my wallet!

    Yeah, enhanced visuals and sound...right.

Older example on why BSnes is superior. Still doesn't matter if it's two years old since ZSNES will never be updated.

Haha, yeah me too. I ended up fixing my step-brother's Wii that had stopped reading disks. The laser was only about $10 from Amazon.
