PS2s are pretty durable: playing them everyday shouldn't decrease the lifespan of the console significantly. To maximize the lifespan just make sure it has plenty of space around the vents to help prevent overheating, and blow the dust out of the vents maybe once a month with compressed air. Also make sure it's in a room where people aren't smoking cigarettes, as the smoke will gunk up the internals and cause issues over time.

"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

Taking good care of your equipment helps a lot in it lasting

As long as it is dust free, well ventilated and the media used is in good condition no scratches ect the thing should last a good long while even with heavy use

I still have a perfectly working PSone, Sega Saturn ect that are among my older consoles (My PS2 is a slim)

Sony consoles PS1 and PS2 atleast have low quality CD/DVD drives though the only real thing you can do is make sure your discs are scratch and smudge free so there is no laser struggle and the lens is kept clean so a standard CD/DVD laser cleaning kit might be an idea especially if your home is prone to collecting dust in electrical's that can cause over heating and for the laser lens to become dirty

If you do not want to take you PS2 apart that I kind of recommend against anyway as it is easy to break you can use a can of air to blow through the inside to remove dust ect inside the console
