Xbox Controller not working on pcsx2 1.2.1. Plus other issues.

Hi

I have a few issues.

1. The language is not English, even though I selected English from the Menu.
(I try to run the game and it just takes me to the memory card or cd selection, but the language is not English anyway)
2. My Xbox Pc controller isnt working
3. I have no idea what settins to use to run Suikoden V .. If I can even get it to run.

My specs are:
Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz, 8.0GB RAM, Itntel HD Graphics 4000

1. Select the language internally via the bios screen

2. 360 pad I take it rather than an xbox pad, make sure you have setup the pad plugin correctly, I also heard that some users are not using the basic HID drivers that allow the pad to work with everything, not even sure how they are doing that I thought they just detected as HID and that was it, personally I don't like using 360 pads anyway though in favor of PSX pads via a simple USB converter that go for very little now (the converters not the pads)

3. use http://pcsx2.net/compatibility-list.html that will eventually take you to http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Suikoden-V-SLES-54087-E

There are no settings notes for the NTSC-U version but it is listed as working anyway the setting thread is for the PAL version, but the game should boot with basic settings anyway (try both quick and slow boot options, don't remember the exact way they named/listed those)

3.more I am going to guess that you don't have an iso yet and the file/files you do have are compressed files to be extracted either that or you extracted the contents of the iso instead of the iso file itself, either way pcsx2 runs iso files.

I sorted out the controller & language thanks

Suikoden now loads, but the graphics render quite badly.. streams flowing over trees ect. and the faces are all boggle eyed likes skulls lol.


I also saved a game to memory card to test it, but now when I try to load it it says the card is unformatted.. even though I just formated it before the save.

Jesh.. this emulator is not for casual users

I'm playing around with the settins and getting some success

I think its just a case of trial and error.


Got the memory cardworking and the Graphics a bit better.


Will keep tweaking then hopefully enjoy the game later.

have a look at the settings for the PAL version that also lists minor graphical issues and a work around from I remember from the look I had at it

I just play PS2 games on my PS2

Try the Logitech Gamepad F510, it can handle xinput and dinput. It's designed like a PS gamepad, but with the xbox buttons layout (because on PC all games use xbox as reference).
So if you like a PS/Xbox Hybrid gamepad for PC, try F510. You simply switch between modes with a switcher on the backside.
