Streets of Rage Remake, Save and Load states (Xbox)

O.K. so in some online instructions for Coinops 6, it says:
BACK and WHITE - Save State ( CONSOLES Only )
BACK and BLACK - Load Saved State ( CONSOLES Only )

So I'm not sure what is wrong or if it's just that game (because although it's counted as a Mega Drive game, it was never actually released on the console) but I can't seem to save or load states.

Any ideas on that specific game, if it's any different etc.? I've not tried to use save or load states on any other games yet so I have no idea.
Save states on this specific game would be great though, so it would actually save what unlockables you have between games!

Edit never mind what you are talking about is not a Genesis rom at all it's whole new game engine that was ported to the Xbox

I'm not a fan of CoinOps myself it's too limited in the setting for me and it's mostly just a collection of other ports and emulators not made by the group that made Coinops

Anyway...

CONTROLS

--------

Left Analog -> Up / Down / Left / Right
Dpad -> Up / Down / Left / Right
A -> Attack
B -> Jump
X -> Specia
Y -> Special Combo
Left Trigger -> Back Attack
Right Trigger -> Series
Black -> Police
Right Analog Thumb -> Exit to Dashboard (Creates Savestate)
Start -> Start
Back -> [ESCAPE]

Almost all controls can be remapped using the menu.

Thanks for the link, and yeah the right stick press only saves what stage you are on in terms of what it autosaves, not the unlockables etc.
That save game seems like it might be a great idea rather than having to play through the game 50 times (with the amount of points I was getting anyway).
