Default Dune 2000 low fps problem on ePSXe 1.9.0 + Wargames: Defcon 1 background music glitch

Hello, any psx game works perfectly on ePSXe on my laptop with high video settings but Dune 2000 seems to be pretty slow. However, fps stays at 0059.8 always but the game is actually slow. The characters move like normal but the camera/screen and cursor moves at like 0015-0020 fps. Anyone else having this problem? Another problem I have is that in the game Wargames: Defcon 1 sfx music works perfectly but the background music doesn't work at all. Defcon 1 is the only game whose background music doesn't work among the games I've tried. Do you guys have any idea to solve this?

    Some details and video settings:

    - ePSXe 1.9.0
    - Pete D3D Driver 1.77 (Video plugin)
    - Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 (Sound plugin)
    - Window mode (848 x 480 resolution)
    - Color depth: 32bit
    - Texture quality: R8 G8 B8 A8
    - Texture filtering: Standard + smoothed sprites
    - Hi-Res textures: 2xSal
    - Off-screen drawing: Extended
    - Advanced blending: Hardware
    - Framebuffer textures: Gfx card buffer
    - Framebuffer access: Emulated vram
    - Mask bit is checked
    - Alpha multipass is checked
    - Screen smoothing is checked
    - Color dithering is checked
    - Unfiltered framebuffer updates is checked

    My laptop:

    - 6GB Ram
    - GeForce GT 820M 1GB
    - Intel i3-3110M @ 2.40 GHz
    - Windows 8.1 64bit

    Thank you.

You could just use a pc version of Dune 2000 There are heaps of mods out there (better graphics etc) and you can even get a package ready to be installed on win7/8 systems.

    Try looking at http://www.psxdatacenter.com/

DUNE 2000 NTSC-U info including settings
Wargames Defcon 1 NTSC-U info including settings

Some of the emulation notes are a bit old so some will use ePSXe 1.7.0 for example but you should be ok with ePSXe 1.9.0 that uses the same core with only minor updates/fixes, but if all else fails start off using exactly what is recommended there, with your own tweaking added

P.S. if BGM does not work still after the settings have been changed to what is in the links then give me some info on the files you have for the disc image
Just list the files that make up the disc image of Wargames Defcon 1

It still doesn't work, I also downloaded the versions 1.7.0 and 1.8.0 for each game and the results are the same as 1.9.0 . Defcon 1 works perfectly though but has the problem with the music. Dune 2000 has the same issue. The strange thing is that on my brother's ps3 I tried out of curiosity to play defcon 1 with a burned image and the game didn't work but the console read only the tracks of the game, which strangely, worked very nice.

Here are the files that make up the image of Defcon 1:

    AUDIO (folder)
    - TRACK_02.PCM
    - TRACK_03.PCM
    - TRACK_04.PCM
    - TRACK_05.PCM
    - TRACK_06.PCM
    - TRACK_07.PCM
    - TRACK_08.PCM
    - TRACK_09.PCM
    - TRACK_10.PCM
    - TRACK_11.PCM
    VIDEO (folder):
    - HUMAN1.STR
    - HUMAN2.STR
    - HUMANVIC.STR
    - INTRO.STR
    - ISL.STR
    - MGM.STR
    - SIZZLER.STR
    - WOPR1.STR
    - WOPR2.STR
    - WOPRVIC.STR
    SLUS_005.99
    SYSTEM.CNF
    WARGAMES.DAT

    Thank you.

BTW: On the website mentioned by you they list up Pete's OpenGL Driver v2.9 (video plugin) but in ePSXe it appears as Pete's OpenGL2 Driver v2.9. I also googled it and I found openGL2 as well.
P.S.: The files listed above are NTSC-U, version SLUS-00599.
P.S.2: I tried the PAL, SLES-00978 version and it still doesn't work.

Like I already said: PC version.
What you're trying to play is just a port afaik.

I was talking about the files that are the disc image not the contents of the disc image.

P.S. did you try the recommended settings for each game?
