Default Need help with downloading and setting up games for dolphin

Hi all, I'm new to all this emulator stuff, and I could really use your help.

I had a friend come over and install the dolphin emulator with 2 games, now the games he installed work fine, but when I try to get some games myself with his instructions, something doesn't work or I'm missing a step.

Is there a step by step guide on how to download games for dolphin that I can follow? or can someone help me with step by step instructions.

    Please and thank you.

Well the steps i was given was after the download, go into the downloads folder, right click "extract here". After that, open the new extracted folder of said game in the downloads folder, then extract the firsts rar. onto the desktop.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation for extracting a file onto your desktop. What happens instead of discovering an .iso file on your desktop?
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I just get another rar. file, when i try doing something with that it claims the file is either unknown format or damaged.

Do you have all of the archive parts ?

What Extraction program are you using? Winrar or 7zip?
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
