Change your folder settings to show extensions of known file types so you can see what file is what

You need to extract either by a *.rar files if there is one or via the *.r01 file if there is no *.rar file

    In the folder...
Hit F10 to show top menu if you have it hidden
    Click Tools>Folder options...
    Click the View Tab
Remove the tick from Hide file extensions of known file types
    Click Apply then OK

Now you will be able to see what file is what

right click the *.rar file or the *.r01 file if there is no *.rar file and hit the extract here option

like I said you need to extract via the *.rar file or the *.r01 file if there is no *.rar file

you can also open the file first by double clicking on the *.rar file or the *.r01 file if there is no *.rar file if that is what you normally do with the single file archive

multi part archive's don't work any differently to single part archive's except the in a multi part one you must extract via the first file (all the rest of the files are read automatically)

    read my replies

You do not have 20 rar files those are just assiciated with winrar and have the extensions hidden

you do not know what they are so follow the instructions that explain how to show file extensions of known file types so you know what the actual extensions of those files are, they are not all *.rar files though

Hint you can't have 2 files with the exact same file name including the extension in a rar split set

I would recommend using 7-zip. You can get it here http://www.7-zip.org/

    -Download and install it.

-Then you should only see one file in the folder with the 7z icon. Right click on that and select "extract files"

-If you have issues with this, you can select all the files in the folder, right-click, and "extract files"

This will extract all the files in the archive(s) to the location you specify.
