    Default How can I play a PC Engine CD/Turbo Duo/TurboGrafx CD ISOs

    They said me to load game, like Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu Soccer Hen, with retroarch, but when I click exe of this software, a command screen appears and then nothing more shows up.

    I suggest you use this fantastic emulator, http://www.ouma.jp/ootake/

    its easy to use and has better performance than the out of date Magic engine.
    THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
    If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

    Install DAEMON-Tools Lite with it's SPTD drivers (you don't need anything else in that so say no to everything else it asks to install, so just make sure you install the main prog and the SPTD drivers)

    Make sure DAEMON-Tools Lite drive is a SCSI drive not a DT drive (important)

    Get yourself Magic Engine run pce.exe once then exit

    Edit the ini file that is created called pce.ini, just open it with notepad

    Change the 2 lines under # cd-rom settings
    driver= to driver=1
    drive= to .... see notes

    notes

    if the drive is the second CD/DVD drive on your system the drive=2

    i.e. the first drive would be your read CD drive drive=1 and the Daemon Tools Lite drive would then be the second CD drive drive=2

    if you are still not sure just open Computer and look at the list of Devices with removable storage and count the CD/DVD/BD-Rom drives if left on default the Daemon Drive is the last one so if you have lets say 3 drives the Daemon drive would be 3 so drive=3 to use that

    Now you can run Magic Engine again pce.exe with the game mounted in Daemon tools, Magic Engine should see the drive correctly with the disc image mounted, just hit BOOT CD and enjoy

    Magic Engine despite being an older Emulator is still the best one out there and out performs others available judging from comments made on emulators such as Ootake.

    I tried it. I have both. I have 2 iso files. I can't open the biggest one that seems to contain the game, so I can only emulate the smallest and it says CD not ready. Do you have a tutorial for me?

    can you give me a little bit more detail of the disc images?

    are they a single Bin/Cue?

    iso/wave/Cue ?

    Sure, the biggest is a iso file and the smallest is a cue.

    Works fine in Magic Engine

    Just tested it

    If you must know that is not a real iso file it is a Binary image with CDDA tracks inside it, real *.iso files can't contain CDDA tracks, but you can name a *.bin Binary file to whatever you like as long as the cue sheet correctly describes the file and the tracks that are contained inside it, the cue file is required for this game and should always be run via that cue file

    So its only a iso and cue?

    Where did you DL it?

    if you got it from isozone it should be a good dump, all you have to do is mount the cue with deamon tools lite like Zorlon suggested and run magic engine or Ootake and the rest is easy

    This is the way I run PC Engine CD games using Ootake:

    1. Open Daemon Tools Lite and mount the .cue file of the game
    2. Open Ootake and click "Hu_CARD" Game
    3. Select the Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J) bios
    4. Start playing by pressing the run button

    Make sure the Ootake CD-ROM drive matches the Daemon Tools Lite drive on your computer. ex - Daemon Tools Lite is listed as my F: drive. To see if Ootake is also setup as the F: drive, open the emulator and click CD-ROM from to toolbar

    Things to download: Daemon Tools Lite, Ootake, Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J), Games

    No, it's a japanese game unless there is a fan translation, that as far as I know there is not for this game
