I can't seem to find if there is a newer version of freemcboot beyond 1.8, i got a ps2 slim toystory bundle the other day and 1.8 is not compatable
does anyone know if theres a newer one?

Hello, i am the casting Couch. you have probably seen me in locations that you can ether not tell anyone, or places you wish you never visited if you know what i mean
I am guessing not
The newer PS2 slim models can't be modded in this way due to the PS2 no longer being able to boot code from the memcard
The slims that have a small gloss stripe on the top can be modded those that are half-ish glossy on the top can't be modded
1.8b is still the latest and greatest FMCB
Can't be modded with FMCB
Can be modded with FMCB
Spot the difference....

Should still be able to install a modchip. Modbo 4 is compatible with all PS2 versions afaik, the slims just require an extra little resistor board iirc.
Spoiler warning:
thanks for the info, I guess I'll just get rid of them and stick with my fat ps2. the only reason i wanted to switch them out was to save some space in my cabinet

Found this on PSXScene http://psx-scene.com/forums/content/...on-v1-93-3921/
Apparently on version 1.9x it adds the ability for the FMCB files to be run from a Hard drive using the PS2 network adapter, don't know about the v12 IDE Hard Drive connections though. Might support that and might not. Apparently a user known as SP193 is helping to improve/develop FMCB.
Hope this helps,
