anyone know what settings to use? i've tried the -slowboot and the -noauto extentions on the epsxe even and still no luck. i only get as far as "Nippon Ichi Softwear Presents" screen... i read in a dif thread that someone is actully able to play this game on epsxe and i cant even get to the start menu x.x lil help? lol

i only have 1 sound plug in and i've heard on other fourms that its the sound that messes it up, all i have is the epsxe spu core 1.9.0. that came with it
i have all the diffent video plug ins but idk which to use and what settings on which one .....

Audio Plugin to use would be Eternal SPU Plugin v1.41

Settings to be used are
Audio device=DirectSound
Buffer size=100 ms
Audio out method=SPUasync
Async mode=Smooth
Reverb=Neill´s
Special game fix=Update before accessing register


Yes you will need to download that on it's own or grab a pack that has ePSXe plus all the commonly used plugins

The first thing you will here is "La La La" then a bunch of Jap voices and see a bunch of jap text

For video because it is just a game with simple 2D graphics the best and fastest to use is P.E.oP.s Soft Video plugin, default setup is enough but if you look at the stretching options there are some very nice filters called HQ2x and HQ3x (don't use the unstretched versions though, for best results keep the display to multiples of 320x240, e.g. x2 that is 640x480 or x3 that is 960x720)

If you get slow downs with HQ stretching though you may want to take that back off as your system is not what is needed by those

Give it time to boot, then tell me if it does not boot at all.

Whatever bios you like it makes no difference at all, just use the recommended one that I'm sure is scph1001 if you must know I was using SCPH101 that is a PSone bios rather than a PSX bios but it really does not effect the emulation any Playastion or PSone bios will do.

CD plugin I am using is also by Pete called P.E.Op.S CDR Driver, make sure you config that while there is a PSX disc in the drive and use the Detect option to auto fill the options for you (sub channel reading is not required by this game)

yeah its still not working (just tried the 101 bios and now my whole computer is starting to crap out on me x.x )

how do i select a drive? i click try auto-detect and it say select a drive first and it wont let me

change the driver interface if nothing is showing under Drive that is just a drop down selection

I quickly tested with the internal CDR plugin and that works just fine as well so that is not even an issue

P.S. sounds like you may not of shut ePSXe down correctly at some point, might be an idea to do a quick reset

Just use the internal CDR plugin the CD plugin was never an issue, I just hapend to be using P.E.Op.S. CDR driver when I was testing the important setup is the sound, the video plugin should work with anything just left as default

I do think you need to reset your machine if ePSXe is getting unstable, just sounds like it was not shut down correctly at some point, so it is possibly still running, just not in an active window or something else is messing your system up.

ctrl alt delete then look at the task manager is another option without resetting to check if ePSXe is listed in the Processes

EDIT:

I am off to bed now anyway Night Night, I will continue to help in the morning if you still can't get it working.

If all else fails try making a disc image from your retail disc, you get better emulation that way anyway due to it skipping needing to read through the CD rom drive that may be the cause of the issues to start with, just use ImgBurn to do that (it's free software, just google for it)
