Firstly you require a modded console to use any of these

The best way to run games on an original Xbox is from it's internal HDD, because the DVD drives on those things tend to die out really easy on some models and they are just low quality drives to start with so can run into issues when reading -R or +R DVD's, retail DVD's shouldn't be an issue unless it is one of the older model DVD drives that mess up regardless of what is read in them

If you just burn an XBE with all it's other files onto a normal DVD it will not work correctly, you need to build a xbox format ISO then burn that ISO to a blank DVD (RW's will not work)

http://www.avalaunch.net/qwix/ is one of the best PC progs for making xbox iso disc images

To get the files onto your xbox HDD I would still convert the files into a xbox ISO and use the same prog qwix to FTP the ISO to the xbox (things like FileZilla will mess up the game files if you try to FTP a folder full of games files for a game)

Because the stock HDD is a bit on the small side it is advised you replace that with a large sized HDD

Multi part files are easy just extract it from the first part usually named .001 or .r01 though sometimes with the r01 r02 ect files you will fine an rar files aswell so with those extract from the rar file not the r01 file, anyway the rest of the files are read automatically

The est software to use for extracting these in www.7-zip.org
