Default What controller do you use when playing emulated games?

Do you have one universal controller, or do you use adapters to play with the appropriate hardware (controller) for each system? I have an Xbox 360 controller and a wireless PC receiver for it, but the D-pad is absolutely horrible. I was wondering about possibly getting "to-USB" type adapters for my SNES, N64, etc controllers, but wanted to know what everyone else does before doing so.

Also, does the d-pad on the SNES controllers seem loose to you guys? Like, wiggles around and such. I can't remember if its supposed to do that or if mine is just old!

Usually I play everything with the 360 controller and works excellent with all the psx emulator games (Beat em up's, action, rpg's, race, etc.).
But I also have a PS1 analog controller from my old old old PS and I buyed an USB adapter for like U$s 5 and works fine too.

Pretty much just a wired 360 controller and once in awhile the PS3 controller.

Probably should be in General Gaming....

    Probably.

The original Dual Shock controller from my PS1 via to-usb adapter. Works quite well although I'm considering getting something different since I can't get a proper grip with that controller.

The only durable wired USB controller seems to be the MS 360. Any thoughts on the Razer Sabertooth or Logitech F310? We have a lot of high quality PC arcade sticks but not gamepads

I currently use a Wii Classic Pro w/ a Mayflash adapter

I never had that problem with the one that comes with software (PC 045). Are you using the plug-and-play version?

PSX/PS2 to USB converters here, I can also use those with my PS3 double handy

I have also used PC controllers but they just don't have the quality of console controllers at least at the time they didn't, not looked at PC controllers since

I have had 360 wired controllers Wii controllers and PS3 controllers on my PC as well, but I just go back to using the PSX/PS2 converters instead, comes in handy that I actually have a few PSX and PS2 controllers to use as well.

The converters are very cheap at the moment the last couple I got are apx £3, that was from either amazon or ebay I forget, but these are listed as PS2 to PS3 converters, rather than PS2 to PC converters, but do work with both.
