Strange error for FFIX on ePSXe 1.8.0

I've looked through the FAQs, compatibility lists, etc under the 'Read this First' threads, I didn't really see anything pertaining to this particular issue (I may be blind or something if it is there). I didn't see anything regarding 1.8.0 unfortunately.

When I use Run ISO for FFIX Disc 1, I get two errors in a row:

Missing render-texture extension!

and then:

No pixel format available!

My specifications via DXDiag are such:

OS: Win7 Home Premium 64bit (6.1 Build 7601)
Model: Acer Aspire 5349
Processor: Intel Celeron CPU B815 @ 1.60GHz (2), ~1.6GHz
RAM: 3072MB
DirectX: 11
Graphics: Some weird "custom" integrated Intel HD card with 1333MB memory.

My specifications for ePSXe are thus:

ePSXe v. 1.8.0
Video plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Audio plugin: ePSXe SPU Core
CDROM plugin: ePSXe CDR WNT /W2k core 1.7.0

I'm hoping I don't have to go back to an older version.

Your graphic card doesn't support OpenGL2, you'll have to change your video plugin from OpenGL2 to OpenGL, Direct 3D or even Pete's Soft video plugin, depending of the game you want to emulate.

Ah, had a feeling the card was what was up. Thanks! I'll give these a try.

Edit: Huh. Maybe my card just won't support the emulation at all - other ISOs alongside this one just give me a black screen. No audio, no nothing. Shame.

Get the NTSC version listed as (U)

(E) = Europe not English

the PAL-E version aka E version aka European version is copy protected, hence the loving black screen of nothingness

If you want to get the E version to you need to either patch all the disc images or use a sbi for each disc via PEoPs CD-Rom plugin

Yeah. I know that, but thanks though. =P My weirdo card is very finicky about what it will and won't play.

I actually did manage to get things to run with pSX (formerly psxfin?).

I also feel extremely stupid. You know what helps? Remembering the whole ECM deal. /o\ I'm going to go hide in a corner now.
