Need help for ePSXe

I'm using ePSXe to play Parasite Eve 2 and I'm having odd problems with the sound

The music plays several times faster than it should (as well as the intro, though other cutscenes seem to be fine, although I haven't gotten too far into the game, so there might be more like that). It also just keeps playing for a long time even after I close ePSXe. Sound effects are fine, it's only the music.

I'm using ePSXe 1.6.0 (I can't use 1.8.0, because my CEP works only for 1.6.0 and earlier versions)

I'm using P.E.Op.S. OpenGL Driver 1.78 on "fast" and ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2 (ePSXe just crashes instantly with some other plugins like Eternal SPU 1.41)

Just set the FPS Limit to auto and set Use FPS Limit

Can you elaborate a bit more on that? I don't know how to deal with that specific problem, but generally I think you'll have better luck trying to get the newer versions to work rather than finding a fix for older versions.

This might not be related to the rest. Make sure you press Esc to switch from the game window to the menus before you close the emulator. If you don't the sound plugin will continue to run in the background until you shut down your computer or close the ePSXe.exe process in Task Manager.

I know you need to switch discs in the middle of the game. Save before this point, you will need to backtrack. Then restart the emulator and use the file for Disc 2. It should load up fine. ePSXe 1.8 doesn't need this extra step since you can switch discs from the menu.

skullpoker is very much correct if you do not close ePSXe correctly via the main gui (hit esc if in game to bring you back to the gui) then it will still be running

If you do close it while not in the gui screen, i.e. while on the game screen, then to close it fully you need to use Task Manager to close it (ctrl+alt+delete and find task manager there)

The above could be causing all sorts of problems, p.s. it may even be preventing you from running newer versions of ePSXe
