Valkyrie Profile 2 is a very demanding game. Can you also post your emulation and GSDX settings?
The bug in the lost forest is a emulation problem and you need to use Software mode to correct render the images (press F9).

Use Diret3D11. Both your OS and GFX card support it.

Also, under Speedhacks, tick the MTVU Hack.

Try this setting, it worked for me and I also finished the game with full speed. Here is my spec:
    OS: Windows XP
    CPU: E8500 3.16GHz
    VGA: Nvidia 9800GT 512MB

    Know issues

    Lost Forest
    Type: GFX Glitches
    Affected Game Versions: All
Description: Screen will have Black/Purple vertical lines everywhere and sometimes will be unable to see character.
Solution: Not yet resolved! Use the map to see the monsters and platforms to get through it, If unable to see properly. The alternative would be to use Software Mode, though be warned that it will be very very slow...... You can also try setting Skipdraw in GSdx (see above in Windows Spec Comments) to a value of 4, you will notice some background flickering problems.

    Cutscenes Image Distortion
    Type: GFX Glitches
    Affected Game Versions: All
Description: Some cutscenes will have vertical lines on them, some will be barely noticeable while others will be on the whole screen. Doesn't affect the game much, everything can be seen.
    Solution: Software Mode!
    or
Solution: Enabling Alpha Hack on GSDX fixed the cutscene lines! (GSDX version 5221)
Enable HW Hacks > Configure > Alpha Hack
Do not follow the solution that are listed above. They are not working, at least for me. Instead, download this modified plugin and copy it to pcsx2 plugin folder:
    Download Links:

    Configuration:

    Note:

    - Do not max out Vu cycle stealing or it will cause fake fps.

    Fixed issues:

    1: Cutscenes Image Distortion
    Before using the modifed plugin:

    After using the modifed plugin:

    2: Lost forest
    Before using the modifed plugin:

    After using the modifed plugin:

    Battle
ps: Sorry for my English and I hope you guys can understand me.
