Hello, is there a ps2 disc that allow you to play ps1 games?

My very old fat ps2 have trouble playing ps1 game and dvd movies, but play ps2 games just fine. I was just wondering if there is a disc that allow you to go to ps1 mode to play ps1 games. Thank a bunch & C YA!!!!!!!!

If you can't play original PSX CD's you can't play backups either, sounds like your laser unit is on it's way out

If the above statment is incorrect then there is PSX Loader that lets you boot backups by running PSX loader popping in an original PSX CD then hitting start, it will read the Original then stop the drive, you can then cog swop to the backup and boot that (If your machine does have problems reading those discs though this will not help you)

PSX Loader is an elf file, if you don't have a way of direct booting an elf file you could make a DVD with that elf I guess

There is one other way of booting PSX software via USB, using a homebrew PSX emulator for the PS2, but this does have compat issues

Oh someone from another site told me to press the reset button 3 times and it worked. Thanks for the help though.

I was lacking the information then, as you must have a mod chip.

In future posts please give us as much information as you can so we can give you the correct advice.
