I recently found a very easy solution for this.

All you do is copy this code as an Action Replay cheat and you will gain XP!

AP patching is quicker and easier

You're probably right. This is just a quick workaround that was very simple for me to start playing properly. I will look into AP patching though, thanks.

In general there is a patcher out there that updates itself and can check roms directly and patch them if you want it to if they have copy protection like pokemon has

DS-Scene_Rom_Tool is the tool, you may need to join there site to download I'm not 100% sure there as I joined them years back

For the record, this experience problem affects Pokemon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2. The AP patch fixes all four games.
