Another game that I fixed for stutter issues

Ys - The Ark of Napishtim [NTSC|U] (Fixed for stutter issues)

Kit to make, I kept my notes for this so no rush there unless requested

The Kits I will be making are not that different from DVD5 to DVD9 kits except that there is no real hacking involved, it will just rebuild the disc with a dummy file to push the Video files or most the data to the edge of the disc making it easier to read by the PS2 laser, these fixes are not just for ESR users either and will work for mod chip users also.

Changed Status for Oni from FAILS to WORKS

I used the CD image to 4.7GB + UDF method via MagicISO trial despite the 300 MB limit it saved the 614 MB of disc content just fine

Going to look at PaRappa the Rapper 2 that is just all over the place when I looked at the LBA layout, I'm surprised the original disc even works let alone a backup

Lets see if a better sort can fix this disc so it works normally you only get a couple of logo's then the disc stops

I still put in a dummy file though at a guess it was not needed but it will improve reading in general anyway so why not

The disc was rather full to start with so the dummy data is only 147 MB the sort is a lot better than the original that was sporadic to say the least, possibly done like that as a way to stop it from being copied & played from DVD-/+R

On to actually testing what I done.

Still not working... boots ok with Swap Magic 3.0 retail disc though...

Testing SwapMagic from an ESR Patched disc... should be interesting, half expecting it not to boot but got to try

SwapMagic boots ok with the ESR patch but on loading a game after it sits on pink so that failed also

EDIT Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Operation Reserraction also failed it still had bad sound during FMV, even though the FMV seems to be playing ok, side note this game plays perfect on the XBOX though

I think that is enough discs down the pan but if you want some hints and tips on CD to DVD or Improving playback of DVD's that lag just ask

Or if anyone wants me to take a crack at something, like resolve lagging issues with x game let me know and I will take a look when I get the chance to do so.

Did you try the ESR GUI using "Disable ESR after first IOP reset"+"Use synchronous mode" or any other combination of settings with 3?

Thanks for the update , it's been a little while since this got added to , been looking at a Saturn mod that works a little like this one, so far the compat list is a solo project though, on a minor hold until I can afford some more CD-R's

I tried to play around with the ESR booting options, Spoof Media, Disable ESR etc, but ill be honest and say I have no clue what those do or are used for, so some help there might make this game work. Otherwise, ill try again in a couple days after researching the topic a little. Havent seen much of anyone around here that could help lol Im almost at 30 titles and no ones checked? hmmmmmm lol)

Rockband ACDC Live Track Pack - NTSC-U - DVD5-R - WORKS ( I had a PAL version of this in an earlier list. The game worked on the ps2 but not on my tv, so I found the NTSC version and re burned it. Both versions work great, I just get black n white and flicker from the PAL version... old tv sucks lol)

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 2 - NTSC-U - DVD5-R - WORKS (DVD Decrypter wouldnt rip this for me, as the game disc itself was a deep purple. Never noticed that in a game before. UltraISO came to the rescue, successfully ripped the game, and it turned into a CD based game. Performed the CD2DVD process with UltraISO, ESR Patched it, and voila! Worked like a charm)

Going through these now, you seem to have a few I have already listed, P.S. the ones that are not credited are tested by me personally so the Grandia games I added myself and they are NTSC U version rather than the Jap versions that you thought, though not sure why you thought that, it makes no difference at the end of the day, it's just you have verified my findings

for the grandia games, when I say they were the jap versions, you had them down as NTSC-J in the list, not U
