Does Pelican's Freeshot ps2 blaster work on emulators

I'm using MAME, PSXFIN and I'm wonder could I use this light gun on games like Carnevil and Judge dredd?

Not with a monitor or laptop screen or with a lcd led or plasma screen

Light guns do not work with those

Newer guns use censor bar (Wii) or camera (PS3) No idea if the 360 even has one

So only guncon 1 and 2 would work?

Those also do not work on what I listed

Old lightguns only ever worked on old TV sets and required the video to be passed through the lightgun, but because the way Lcd Led and Plasma's display thouse lightguns will not work even via the intended consoles

EDIT actually the dreamcast light guns work in VGA on a VGA monitor, though not tested on LCD LED or Plasma

So your saying that even if I use an old crt monitor and vga rca converter/spliter it still wont work?

Nope it won't

A Wii-mote will work via blue tooth and it's censor bar and there are new light guns that work the same as a Wii-mote that use a censor aswell as the gun

is there a ps3 mame emulator? and is using a usb video capture device to go from a ps1-2-3 I'm guessing that won't work either?

I do not know what emulators are available for the PS3 or what controllers will work with it, it more depends on how they program it, for the PS3 though they will not include lightgun support only Move support that acts as the PS3 lightgun

Quick question on the wiimote option would they work as light guns on wiisx or will it just think their normal psx controllers?

Wiisx is that a PSX emu for the Wii???

If so it depends if they emulated light gun support or not

On the Wii I know NES light Gun games use the Wii Mote as a light gun if you setup the emu to do so, not realy done much more asides from NES, don't remember but I may of done the same with SNES and Megadrive

Not got my HDD for me Wii to hand as my little brother and sister are using it at the moment, if the emulator has the option though yeah it can use the WiiMote as a light gun... actually also can be used as a mouse for some emulated games, again thats if the emulator supports it

On your earlier post about the newer ones requiring a sensor bar or ps3eye would that mean I can't use a namco ps3 usb light gun on mame either?

NAMCO G-Con 3 also uses sensors

So all the youtube videos are like I thought just people being a bunch of dorks posting fake videos? Do you know how reliable those act labs ones are and if their good or good enough where can I find one for cheap I'm on a low budget right now.

act lab ones are realy hard to get hold of there is a newer PC one though and will work with any screen type as they also use a sensor bar
