The television's signal disappears at random intervals as well. And at the moment it's static again. My mother's not going to be happy if she can't watch some television program called "All My Children" so she'll probably blame it on me.
And the wind's blowing strongly at Gansbaai.
Part of the house's gate was actually blown away this morning.

let me "talk" to your parents. as a computer expert i could teach them its only use is for downloading another browser

"after setting up all your info and connecting to a network, open Internet Explorer and navigate to chrome.google.com and download Google Chrome, or if you wish, we can maneuver to
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download Mozilla Firefox"

if they ask why i can always come up with some contrived bit about how weak, slow and flawed it is.

scary thing is most of it will be true, even WITHOUT me looking any of it up.

You'd have committed suicide because you're not allowed to install a different browser on your computer?
And the only reason you haven't is a video game? You really do need to reassess your life, and stuff.

    I guess you've got a choice then.
*Install another browser and get grounded.
*Go somewhere else and use another PC that won't require you to use IE.

There is a third alternative, but it involves killing people.
I don't recommend this option, because there may be some serious consequences

    I just can't resist.

Computer expert, teacher, linguist(ic)... hard to believe you're not richer than Bill Gates.

    Also, welcome back.

lol, "computer expert" is a self given title, i know the ins and outs of tweaks and operating procedures. i just figured it would give me more credibility in their eyes than "15 Yo hacker who learned most of his computer stuff by accident"

as for the "richer than Gates" thing, nobody takes me seriously, not even my parents
