    Default EPSXE netplay

Hi. Me and a friend are trying to do netplay on EPSXE. We are trying to host a game using each others IP, I think that's P2P. What tools do we need? Also, how do we set it up?

Not the best emulator to play over the net to be honest

The only thing that is linked are the control pads, though that will be ok for some games others it won't be good at all

The emulator for each system running it may be slightly different, if one lags even ever so slightly the game will be out of sync, even if the FPS limit is set the same for all parties, this can still be different per machine as the FPS is not a constant 60 or 50 more of a variable rate between 58 and 60... depends on the machine it is ran on (atleast if it's a beat em up like street fighter you could both win and lose at the same time lol)

The games can also be a pain for example Diablo a 2 player action RPG (a good game by the way) has random dungeons and events that differ every game play and with net play on ePSXe only linking up control pads.. what one player sees is not going to be the same as what the other player sees

Although the control pad link up sounds like a good idea it has it's problems

Normally link up play will sync the game data aswell as controls, so even if one lags it will lag for all players but this keeps everyone playing in sync with each other and makes it almost impossible for any of the players to see something that the other players don't

The above is also true of PC online games and native online console games, so some servers get lags from time to time, not always the fault of the server though sometimes it is down to a players connection (this also depends on the type of game/server, some don't work like the above nower days and the only time everyone would lag is if the server is too busy and lagging players will just freeze to other online players)
