Default What the hell are CCD and SUB?

Well, I download some psx games from emuparadise and when I open the .rar, there is a file and in that file containing .CCD, .ECM and .SUB.
I know that I need to unecm the .ecm file and I can play the game.

But what the hell is .CCD and .SUB?
Why are both files are in the download?
What should I do with them?

This looks like a converted iso. I remember seeing these too, but never ever used them. If you need to convert one of the files back into something readable by an emulator, media burner or something like that... Then they could be just files with information created by the one that created the ecm file...

    Or whatever.

Isn't CCD some kind of CD image file? Or am I wrong?
Been lazy to put up a sig since my account got wiped with that last EP crash. Well, here's something.

the ccd and .sub files are just information files for the emulator or disc burner, what you need to do is get ecm Tools from here and click and drag the .ECM file onto the "unecm" tool and a black box will appear with writing on it just let that box finish what its doing and you will have a converted ISO file, ECM is basically a compressor for cd images, after that just run the CCD or SUB file on the emulator and you should not have any issues

What you mean by running the CCD and SUB files?
Doesn't I should only running the UN-ECM file on the emulator?

unecm is only used on ecm format files (ecm is just another form of compression)

sub files are for sub data found in some CD's (clone CD create those even if the disc has no sub data but keep it anyway just incase)

ccd files are descriptor files, much the same as what cue files are

ecm files need extracting for use with emulation and for burning or for anything else that reads cd images, ecm files are unreadable as they are, so require extracting with unecm or other ecm extractors
