Default Playing Final Fantasy 8 Disc 1.

It seems very glitchy but I suspect it might be my settings.

I am playing Final Fantasy 8 on the ePSXe. Everytime I do a spell or an action in battle, the game slows RIGHT down, music, graphics.
I am playing it on the 'Nice' Settings. Should I switch to fast?

When I am also on the World Map, parts of it will flash black.

Apart from a very minor problem in Digimon World where the battle music slows down against a regular opponent, no other game does this.

ok some more info is needed what version of epsxe are you using what plugin for video what are your computer specs that should do it.

for the speed I would suggest going to your video card plugin and taking the vram off auto and setting it to 512

this works great for me using epsxe 1.5.2 which is recommened for square games plus you don't have to mount with daemon to swap disc.
    I am using pete's openGL2 plugin.

In special game fixes I have the ones on saying they are for final fantasy 8 and the one that says it's needed for epsxe 1.5.2
that should get you started in the right direction

We tend to not talk about PC warez here... It's a no no here

If you are on a low end PC though ePSXe using P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver works great (recomend HQ2x stretching to keep nice looking gfx)

Personly I use ePSXe 1.7.0 for everything, but I also use Daemon Tools Lite for every game aswell, to enable sound tracks and to help avoid other emulation issues from running games directly through run ISO, but up to you realy as FF8 has no extra sound tracks in CDDA tracks and as far as I know has no issues running it directly from Run ISO

Enable 0x0001, and 0x0002 gamefixes, and set the Compatibility to 2-2-1, disable 'Use FPS Limit' as well.

Hit the windows logo on the lower left on your desktop, there is a text box there, type DXDIAG and hit enter, a few seconds later Direct X Diagnostic tool will load up

on there it shows the system specs, the display tab shows your graphics chip set details

just copy the details into a new post
