Default Final Fantasy X ESR Issue

Every compatability list I've seen says it should work. I burned it at 2x, which is the lowest my DVD burner can go, and it is ESR patched. It'll go to the title screen, but on trying to start a new game or load an old one, it black screens. I've tried running it with each of ESRs three options seperately, but none worked. Should I just try burning it again and hope for the best?

EDIT: Burned it again at 8x and it worked. Does the necessary burn speed vary by game?

2x if fine for burning, you didn't mention the media used though

Whatever the slowest burn speed is for each drive tends to be the best burning speed

ImgBurn is the recomended software for PS2 burns

Verbatim DVD+R tends to be the best media for PS2 games, DVD-R if your PS2 is one of the first few bulky models, later bulky models allow for DVD+R media

It is possible that the media used before either had damage or dust/any other small mark that prevented it from burning correctly

Personly every ESR game I burned was at 2.5x my slowest
