Mr. Crimsonedge, I'd like to thank you. I spent hours fiddling with SSF trying to get it to work, only to reach the screen that says the disc is incompatible. Upon changing the bios name, I can finally play games. Thank you so much.

I have been getting the same "disc is incompatible" message, I'm using ssf 012 beta r2. what I have done is renamed the bios as stated previously and changed the region setting but the same message appears. Games I'm trying to run are burning rangers clock work knight contra legacy of war and doom all of which are us region and were obtained from the main ep site.

I would also test other region settings anyway, don't touch the bios file if you can boot to the clock/bios options everything is fine

changing region settings need to be done while you see the "disc is incompatible" message then you can restart the emu with the game and the setting will of changed for that game

well I checked the games they're all listed as playable. The bios works fine tried switching the region after getting the message and even tried switching the region between pal and us still getting the same "disc is incompatible" .

Well be testing/downloading Dead or Alive 2 Dreamcast first but might aswell temp grab your games aswell while I'm at it and get the saturn games running

Give me about 1hr to DL DoA2 first then I can start getting your games

First thing I noticed was an error in the cue sheet

open that in notepad and remove the path in it so it reads FILE "NAME OF BIN FILE.BIN" BINARY instead of FILE "C:\SATURN\NAME OF BIN FILE.BIN" BINARY

so just delete C:\SATURN\

Second I scanned Clockwork Knight with CD-Mage and spotted 1 error that was in the system area of the disc

I just hit repair on that

SSF is playing up for me so not boot tested yet

EDIT Contra Legacy of War has the exact same error afain fixed fine in CD-Mage

I won't bother with DooM unless you have alt issues

ok well I fixed the .cue of burning rangers an loaded it but ssf is still giving the same "disc is unsuitable for this system". would screen shot it but i can't seem to do that.
as for clockwork knight I will have to re download it and try to fix it.
clockwork knight now works after fixing the error. thanks. could an error be causing the same trouble with burning rangers?

Did you mount the .cue file or the .bin/.iso file? Try mounting the .cue file. For some reason Legend of Oasis only works for me if I mount the .bin file, other games are the other way around, or some work with either the .cue or .bin file mounted. Try that.

Probobly because the cue sheet is a mess

I have had that game running just fine mounted via a cue sheet in the past

went to try mounting the .bin but alcohol 52% only allows .cue .mds .iso ect

lol presumed you used D-Tools as recomended but Alcohol 120% also does the job anyway

and you are much beter off mounting cue sheets in general specially if you want background music for those games that have cdda tracks

yeah learned that some time ago. well got the games working it was just an error that was easily fixed with cd mage.
thanks for the help. as for d-tools I stopped using it when i had troubles installing it on win xp. alcohol has worked great for me and has no trouble with win 7.
