If Nero still gives you probs, download POWERISO(yes it is a trial, but can be used indefinitely for just burning or mounting).. I've used that for all my PS1/PS2 games and never once had a bad burn, the interface is very very simple and is pretty quick at burning, even slow burn speeds. Just keep pressing "continue unregistered" everytime you open it, and it will never time out, brilliant for burning these types of iso's.
Even though imgburn is good and fully free(I use it for 360 games) Poweriso is more simple and fast for burning playstation 1 or 2 games.. I've burnt 150 ore so ps1-2 games never once failed.
Less options are better I think, when not needed.
Imgburn is simple free and works perfect without changing any settings at all
Although I do recomend reducing burn speed to the slowest (the burn speed may alter itself to a faster speed, this is due to a hardware limit to it's slowest speed and does not cause any issues, all burning software will do that)
Software that forces one type of setup tends to fail on some things, so the less settings is not a good thing no
Imgburn is the best burning software around at the moment
Personly use it for PSX, PS2, Dreamcast (Including selfboot games), Xbox, Wii & GameCube plus the odd DVD-Video.
I don't need or use any retail burning software

But some people are daunted by options, thinking they have to select this or untick that. With Poweriso once opened you hit burn and a very simple plain box comes up with image select and burn speed. Thats why I recommend it still over imgburn. Simplicity.
But you don't do anything more in ImgBurn, so I fail to see how it's any more simplified
By the way Poweriso is one of those that kills PSX CD Images if you use Poweriso to convert a CD Image file from one format to another, so if you use it, don't to convert with it or just mount and rip from a virtual drive (it does this because it extracts a CD image and rebuilds it when converting and screws the video and sound headers of STR/XA playstation format files)

Well this thread answered my question.
Well its FAR more simple for what he wants, burning PS1 games.
And another thing is, when you see a lot of options(like imgburn) and you haven't used the program before, then you tend to want to look at a tutorial on it to make sure you aren't mising anything when doing particular iso burning. But with Poweriso, its just 3 steps, click burn-select image and burn speed-click burn... you dont really feel you are are missing anything or maybe doing something wrong. And is till somehwhat free for what he wants, as it wont run out if just using them options- mounting and burning
You take Nero or alcohol for example, they have or had a "playstation option", now why is that?.. or I suppose the better question is- why doesnt other programs like poweriso have that option, but yet it still does the same thing. See what I mean by more options can be confusing.
